About Alders Moorings

How the co-operative works.

The co-operative owns the mooring land and operates it exclusively for members. Each member has a mooring agreement and one vote at general meetings. A management committee handles day-to-day business under the rules and decisions made by members.

01

Ownership

The land and moorings are owned by Alders Moorings Co-operative Limited, a registered society and fully mutual housing co-operative.

02

Member decisions

Each member has one vote at general meetings. Members elect the committee and decide matters reserved for general meetings under the co-operative's rules.

03

Management and maintenance

Members share responsibility for running the site. This includes committee work, administration, maintenance and other tasks agreed by the co-operative.

History

How the co-operative was formed.

The moorings at Hampton Hall Farm existed before Alders Moorings Co-operative and were occupied by the tenants who later established the co-operative.

  3. Today

    Member-owned and managed
